Move On

Sitting on the front porchMove-On

Breathing in this hot, heavy air

Lizards lurking around

Beside me, an old wicker rocking chair

A butterfly flitting about

Dried leaves scattered everywhere

Don’t want to start the day

My legs slowly lead the way

Morning coffee is to be made

Lack of energy is evident

A sense of dread is prevalent

I will press ahead and move on

These anxieties will not destroy me

Life has been hard lately

But hope is lingering

Still breathing

In this hot, heavy air
